June is deliberately quiet. The studio wrapped a long research-tool project in May, and I’m spending the slack on purpose. I’m finishing Stack — the reading-queue tool that’s been half-built since winter. It finally syncs highlights properly, and I’m fighting the urge to add a single feature more, re-learning film photography with a thrifted Olympus XA; the discipline of 36 frames is doing something good to how I look at streets, and taking no new client work until September. It feels reckless to write that down. That’s why I’m writing it down.

Heads-down quarter on a note-taking tool for a research group — the kind of project where every meeting starts with someone quoting Vannevar Bush. I’m enjoying it more than I admit in standups. Reading three books about attention at once, which is its own kind of joke. The greyhound and I are walking more than usual — upgraded from one canal loop to two.
November 2025
Margin shipped — my little PDF annotation exporter is now used by exactly forty-one people, eleven of whom I’ve met. This is the right size of success. The winter habit begins: one note a week, published whether or not it feels finished. And I’m hosting a tiny type crit at the studio every other Thursday — six chairs, bring your own specimen.
August 2025
August runs at half speed on purpose: one client project simmering, lake swims most mornings, and a rebuild of this site — the previous version had accumulated four years of barnacles. The new rule: every page must justify itself out loud.
