In defense of small software

Margin has forty-one users and I know most of their names. By every dashboard metric it’s a failure; by the metric of “does the thing it promised, for people who needed it” it’s done.

We’ve let growth become the only proof of worth in software. But a tool can be finished the way a chair is finished. Nobody asks a chair about its weekly active sitters.

Build small things. Let them be done.
